What Information Do We Collect About You?

Our newsletter and download forms will collect your email address and (if you provide it) your name. Other forms, such as our contact form, may ask for more information including your company name and a phone number if you would like us to call you back.

As well as the data you provide, we will also collect the time and date you submitted the message and also the country and IP address the message was submitted from.  This data will be stored by our website using a secure form plugin. The form submissions are emailed to one of our team, so we can get back to you, and are held in our secure MailChimp and CRM systems.

How Will We Use The Information About You?

If you contact us through our website, we may create an account for you in our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) System, BASE (created by FutureSimple Inc).  Within this CRM we may also keep a record of times and dates of when you have contacted us, downloaded material from our website, when we have spoken, corresponded by email, booked a meeting, or when you have placed an order, paid an invoice or received a remarkable bottle of bubbly to celebrate an amazing collaboration on a recent project.

We also occasionally collate data using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Word (yes they’re old hat but still work).  We also use third-party email software such as SPARK (created by Readdle Inc) which may store your email address in its contact book if we email you directly. SPARK is Privacy Shield (The EU/USA privacy treaty) compliant.

If you give us permission to contact you by email, or if you sign-up to our newsletter list, then we will also add your email address, name and company name to MailChimp (created by The Rocket Science Group LLC) for email marketing purposes. MailChimp is both GDPR and Privacy Shield (The EU/USA privacy treaty) compliant and secured by two factor authentication (this means that to login to our account we have to verify access with a code that is auto generated and sent to a specific mobile phone). Each email that you receive using MailChimp will come with a clear link to unsubscribe.  Note that unsubscribing from our MailChimp list does not unsubscribe you from all communications, or remove you from our CRM system.  To do this, see ‘Access To Your Information and Correction’ below.

If you give us permission to contact you in exchange for downloading some information from our website, we may email you directly to talk about the specific content you downloaded. Our proof readers are pretty thorough so there shouldn’t have been any spelling errors or grammatical mistakes but it’s always nice to get your feedback and see what you thought about the pictures.

If you are a commercial contact, we may also use the email address you provided to find and connect with you on LinkedIn. That’s if you use the platform of course, if you’d don’t then we won’t (but you may find LinkedIn helpful).

Marketing and Social Media

We are in the business of marketing, but we like to do so in a fun, approachable and inclusive way. We believe that good marketing makes people want to find out more about a business and should create trust in that business. We’re really in the business of helping people succeed.

If you have visited this website and have an account with/use either Google or Facebook (including Instagram, WhatsApp and any other service owned and run by Facebook) you may start to see some friendly messages with links to helpful information related to the topics you were reading about previously on our website. It may be a great offer, it may be the very latest information to help you build your business or it may be an invitation to one of our highly informative marketing bootcamps. If you’re seeing that it means we value you as an ideal customer for our business as we know we can help you achieve more having already helped similar businesses succeed.

Please don’t be upset if you’re not seeing any of our targeted marketing, we still love you and appreciate you finding out more about us. We hope the information you find on this website helps you, and hey who knows, maybe we’ll speak in future.

Either way, your preferences for seeing this kind of advertising are controlled by your user agreement with Google and Facebook. You can always alter your personal settings in your Google/Facebook account. For more details please see the appropriate links at the bottom of this page.

You may also want to take a look at the Digital Advertising Alliance who have a handy ad removal tool at http://optout.aboutads.info.

If you take the conscious step of filling out any of the contact forms or download forms on this website then you will need to have clicked the box saying you are happy for us to store your details in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Under the new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations 2018) we can’t assume anything (!!!!) but we hope you’re not intoxicated when you opt-in and are doing so of your own free will and not with a gun to your head. If so then thank you for contacting us, we always appreciate enquiries and feedback.

Please refer to the section above, What Information Do We Collect About You, where we’ll state where we keep your details and that we may then contact you directly, send connection invites to you via social media platforms such as LinkedIn and send you appropriate email marketing with further information about our services and the topic(s) you were interested in.

Every marketing email you receive will include an unsubscribe link in the footer so if you don’t want to receive the emails anymore please don’t complain in an overly aggressive and upset manner (apologies in advance if you’re having a bad or stressful day, we really aren’t trying to direct you to a porn site or sell you fake handbags, we only send out qualified business information to people who have opted-in to our lists), just click the unsubscribe link, you won’t receive any more emails and we can all go on our merry ways happily with no bad feelings.

Just in case you scanned down quickly and missed out the previous section above, please understand that removing yourself from our mailing list doesn’t automatically remove you from all our systems. You have the right to be forgotten, subject to the information we’re required to hold under UK Law. To do this, see ‘Access To Your Information and Correction’.

We post a lot of things on Social Media platforms (well who doesn’t these days?) but some platforms like Twitter may shorten the links (it’s terribly frustrating but out of our control) to something like http://bit.ly/1HpzALd (his is just an example please don’t click it…! Oh, you clicked it didn’t you?!). Please do take extra care to only click on what looks like a genuine link as some unscrupulous people may hijack these links in order to hack your computer. We can’t be held responsible for any damage caused.

Access To Your Information and Correction

Unlike many cop shows you do have the right to request a copy of all the information that we hold about you. If you would like a copy of some or all of your personal information (you saucy dog!), please email or write to us at the address below (please see How To Contact Us).

We may make a small charge for this service, nothing huge but we may need to pay for a strong coffee to perk us up while looking through all the data. We want to make sure that your personal information is accurate and up to date as lets face it, no one likes to make mistakes or call people by the wrong name. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate, although quite frankly all the information there will have been provided by you in the first place.

Just like the famous blue puppet monster from Sesame Street our website loves cookies. Not the delicious triple chocolate variety found in your favourite supermarket (we love those in the office!) but the more technical type.
